Invisalign is a branded clear-aligner system. Whether aligners are appropriate depends on the orthodontic problem, treatment goals and the patient's ability to wear them consistently.
The brand is not the plan
The Invisalign name does not determine complexity. Attachments, elastics and other mechanics may still be required; diagnosis and monitoring remain the orthodontist's responsibility.
Why patients choose aligners
Aligners are less visually prominent and removable for meals and brushing. That convenience creates responsibility because leaving them out too long can interfere with progress.
Treatment goals first
If braces and aligners are both reasonable, ask whether they are expected to achieve the same bite and alignment goals and what compliance each requires.
